At first I just wanted to post the audio of this song, because I’m heading to TLH for the night tomorrow. But then I realized I don’t have this entire album (!!!) on my computer. And then I found this video, and I was like, ehhh it’ll have to do, but THEN I remembered that not only was I at this show (I haven’t missed a Mountain Goats show in the North Florida area in…seven years?), but Ryan and Kyle and Max and Trav were also there, and we were standing in the very back of the crowd, singing our guts out to every song, and I had tried my first funnel cake that evening, thanks to Dave, and Max and I were going to NYC the day after the day after this, and I had gotten over my allergy attack, and I had been illegally drinking all day after illegally sneaking into the Artists’ Area, and everything was wonderful and I’m seeing Ryan and Kyle and Max and Trav in two days, or even less now, and this is the perfect video to post before my adventures begin.

As the poster on Buzzfeed puts it, “I think you’ll really like this if you like indie music and democracy.”

I think he is very, very right.

This is really important, especially the barbershop quartet song.

Goddamn these vampires.

Best looking band in America, y/y?

Not sure why this is the only video I can find of The Mountain Goats on Letterman last night, but it’s totally OK.

Here’s hoping for them to play Florida sometime between now and June, or Paris during the month of July!

Who am I kidding, if they play anywhere in Western Europe while I’m over there, I’m hoping on a train to see muh boys.

(note: I am not allowed to call them “muh boys.”)

Everything that’s been going on today has made me feel sad and nervous and angry and cynical, but luckily John Darnielle always knows exactly what to say to cheer me up.
